Abstract
The objectives of this work are to carry out an exploratory study of “the expectations of Vocational Training (hereinafter FP) students with their current studies”, “how these can be improved” and to validate an instrument to be able to analyze these fields in FP studies. 789 students respond to a questionnaire, prepared ad hoc, with Alpha reliability .950. The confirmatory factor analysis presents two factors: “expectations with current studies” and “aspects to improve in FP”. The proposed model is considered acceptable: RMSEA .06, SRMR .05, CFI .96, TLI .95 and X2/df 1.68. The most highly rated aspects of expectations are: finding a better job, improving professional life and standard of living. These studies can be improved by adapting VET to the conditions and needs of the labor market, improving aspects such as professional guidance, educational center- company relations, teacher training and teaching resources. The students value the proposed variables better. There are no differences according to the ownership of the center and having work experience or not. The protocol provided may be of interest to analyze student satisfaction and improvement of FP. It is considered appropriate to continue researching in the field of FP.
