Abstract

The text develops an interesting essay on education, its essential purpose being to stimulate -without ambiguity- reflection. To this end, it proposes a roadmap that starts from the classical concept’s paideia and humanitas, passing through postmodernity, as relevant milestones, to map an unflattering horizon, always challenged by progressive quotas of crisis. The historical-cultural and pedagogical journey leads to the unavoidable requirement of overcoming the galloping educational, legal and ideological gatopardism (whose motto would be, change things so that everything remains the same), to reveal and externalize the deep concept of education that has been buried in a regrettable way by the educational system and its heavy burdens. The confusion between the previous and substantial concept of education and its fixation in the ephemeral architecture of the educational system, between the transcendental and deep, pre-political dimension of education and the political-administrative implementation of the system, represents the bankruptcy of education and the submission to a short-term educational system alienated by the accelerated social changes. From this minaret, he analyzes without concessions major current issues such as curriculum, memory, authority, emotional marketing or education as a public service, which have led to a real trivialization of education.
