Abstract
The article aims to analyze how access to educational inspection in Spain has been granted since the establishment of the first primary education inspectors. It examines the selection process of inspectorates of education over these 175 years of history, starting from the creation of the "School Inspector" role in each province in 1849, to the present day. To this end, the article reviews the various normative provisions that have regulated this matter, presents the characteristics of the entry systems established in different periods of the educational inspection history, details the appointment process of inspectors, and finally, compiles and provides primary sources for consultation.
