Abstract

Continuous assessment was introduced in Spain by the 1970’s national law. Since then, there have been several law reforms, but continuous assessment has been the fundamental paradigm as regards all non-university stages of education. Experience shows us that the concept has been put into practice differently and not always properly. A group of inspectors of education from the Balearic Islands produced in 2018 a document to guide teachers sidestepping the most common misguided ideas about continuous assessment towards the utilisation of guidelines in order to design teaching and learning processes aligned with it.
