Abstract

USÍE coordinates, since 2019, a European Project within the framework of Erasmus Plus entitled «Stopping early school leaving as a means to promote social and work inclusion», with the main purpose to identify and analyze, at an European level, the main factors affecting this complex social problem with the aim of creating a Guide to good practices and recommendations,  with defined and concrete proposals. After the global outbreak because of the health crisis, a comparative study was carried out among the countries participating in this project (Spain, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, and Turkey) on the impact of the pandemic on early school leaving, linking it with the main objectives of the E + project. The work program carried out in Poland included the analysis of this impact, together with two other objectives:

  • To promote effective methods of implementing the use of ICT for the prevention of early school leaving.
  • To study some ways to introduce the SDG, especially No. 4, into students’ curricula.

Besides this enriching exchange of experiences, we had the opportunity to visit primary, secondary and vocational schools, checking first-hand the educational responses carried out in Poland, a country with a school dropout rate of 4.6%.
