Abstract

This paper provides a brief analysis of the different bilingual programs that have been developed in Spain, after analysing the methodology known as Content-Language Integrated Learning, which inspires those programs. Afterwards, the contrastive analysis is carried out, referring to the linguistic level required among teachers, the stages, and subjects of these programs. In addition, a brief contrastive analysis is provided. This analysis deals with the results in the development of the communicative competence of students who took part in the program versus those who didn´t. To achieve this goal, the results of two regions are analyzed: Madrid and Asturias.
