Abstract

DOI: https://doi.org/10.52149/Sp21/61.9

In recent years, research on motivation related to the study of the psychology of physical activity and sport is abundant and substantial, as well as its implication and repercussion in the educational context, that is, in relation to the teaching of Physical Education within the block of specific subjects (considered as a subject in the Secondary Education stage and as an area in the Primary Education stage), and is mainly given by the ability to explain processes as complex as human behavior, among them, the adherence to the practice of physical sports activity.

Therefore, a review or state of the question is exposed on the Self- determination Theory (TAD) (SDT in English), understood as one of the framework theories, fundamental to understand extrinsic and intrinsic motivation as well as the amotivation, a broad theory of human development and well-being, with an impact to be taken into account in the educational context.
