Abstract

The book title may seem at first both appealing and confusing, but the author’s aim is to reflect, share and think critically about our educational system through the educator figure. This piece covers basic concepts about Pedagogy, such as setting the different roles an educator has and we can find a chapter in which the author specifies «Fifty contemporary professional paths for pedagogy studies». Santos Guerra urges to introduce Pedagogy as the science and art of Education, in which we should promote ethical values such as freedom, solidarity and social justice and cohesion opposite to neoliberalism ideologies and individualism. The book supports the idea of the educator’s task being arduous and complex, as well as beautiful, exciting and above all very much needed.
