Abstract

Assessments are a fundamental basis to improve any education system in terms of quality, minimizing any eventual future degradation. Research papers in education shows a poor continuous improvement culture in the classrooms, recognizing sometimes assessments as just grading, there is still a long way to go.External assessments are crucial for a right diagnosis of the educational system. They facilitate the collection of many key indicators, allowing the implementation of new improvements both at the Administration and educational centers.

Although there are clear advantages in the application of these external assessments, since the very beginning, there has been opposition to them by a large representation of the educational community.

The results of the external assessments allow to the educational centers to analyze their strengths and weaknesses in order to develop the appropriate improvement plans. However, some educational centers lack the necessary training and knowledge to perform a suitable analysis.

Therefore, this article sets out a model that will facilitate the advice provided by the Education Inspection regarding the procedures for continuous improvement of schools after their participation in such assessments.
