Abstract

Providing a safe school environment and mitigating the effects of COVID-19 on education are the main challenges the Government and the Autonomous Communities, at the beginning of the 2020-21 academic year. have to face up.

The Ministry has set out some general lines of action regarding the educational organization in the 2020-21 academic year. Those guidelines were established at the Sectoral Conference held on 11 June 2020 and also in the «Guide to Prevention, Hygiene and Health Promotion Measures for Schools in the 2020-21 Academic Year» published on 22 June.

Before starting the academic year, with the support of these ministerial guidelines, all the Autonomous Communities had set their own guidelines for schools to implement, as organizational and student care measures.
This study presents the main measures implemented by the Educational Administrations, focused on four areas: protection and health in schools, organization in schools, measures to address the teaching-learning process, situation and measures regarding the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
