Abstract

The article presented, presents a justified, orderly and coherent defense, on a direct and delimited inclusion of the motor competence as another key competence of our educational system, without forgetting that the competences, is integrated as one element of the curriculum, thus defining the teaching and learning processes of each of the formal education..

It is therefore a curriculum element, involving a combination of skills, practices, knowledge, motivations, attitudes, emotions…, where the motor competence makes significant and relevant contributions, and this is consolidated by the school hours that are deduced from the practice of the subject of Physical Education (PE).

The main objective of the PE classes is to promote the practice of physical activity in the students. In this increasingly sedentary society, PE classes play a very important role, sometimes becoming the only time of the week when the child or teenager plays sports. The quality and quantity of the experiences lived in the PE class will be key to promote and encourage interest, and attachment to the practice of physical activity and sports at leisure time, ensuring health and quality of life.
